We have owned and loved Aussies for over 10 years but have only been involved in breeding since
2006. I bought my first Australian Shepherd in 1997 and that was all it took. Ever since then, I have
loved and been deeply devoted to the breed. I've worked with Pam and Wes Guffey of the Draghuida
Kennel from 2002 to 2007, helping with their breeding program and placement of puppies and
adults, but due to their age and deteriorating health they are no longer breeding, So, in 2006, I
started my own kennel and applied for the name Laurelhills, which was granted by ASCA in January
2006. I owe a lot of thanks to the folks that helped me get started.

We are committed to educating prospective buyers about all aspects of the breed both negative and
positive. We only sell puppies that are physically and mentally sound. We do our best to divide a
litter into "pet" and "show potential”.  The differences are based on the dog's comparison to the
breed standard.  Only puppies determined to contribute to the betterment of the breed will be sold
as Show and Breeding quality. Of course, we cannot guarantee a puppy will go on to become a
champion but do our best to choose one that we feel has the best potential. But first and foremost,
we will always try to help you pick the puppy that will fit best in your household.  We allow you to
spend as much time as you wish with the litter. We ourselves spend time each day socializing each
puppy and getting to know each puppy as an individual. All of our puppies are vaccinated, wormed,
health checked and have their eyes cleared by a veterinary ophthalmologist before leaving for their
new homes.

Our objective is to get each puppy a loving, forever home. We will always be available to help with
questions, training, showing, boarding or referrals for the life of the dog or puppy. We are proud of
our dogs and encourage the buyer to meet the puppy's parent(s) and relatives. We will provide a
pedigree, a written sales contract including guarantees, and an up to date health record with
vaccination history. And finally, we are always willing to take the dog/puppy back if it doesn't work out
- for whatever reason.

We can also be a resource for placement of any unwanted, neglected or abused animal. In the past
10 years we have placed over 70 Aussies in new homes, in addition to some horses. We will do our
best to help rehabilitate and re-home just about any type of animal. Feel free to call for information or
to just chat about critters.
